Why?

Why did she ignore me?
Why didn't he talk anything to me?
Why did she drift away?
Why did he change?
Why? Why? WHY?????!!!

Stop thinking. Read these reasons:

---> Knows the differences:
1. Boys talk about 'events' and girls talk about 'people'.
Doesn't mean that girls never talk about things that happen lately or boys never talk about others, but that is what sometimes happen.

2. Girls express their minds, boys look for solutions.
If people's mind is like a room, then girls' mind is just like a room without partition, but boys' mind is full of partition. When they are talking, boys' focus is the 'solutions', but the girls usually talk so long (though the topic isn't that necessary or interesting) until they feel tired of talking too much.

3. Girls are 'multi-tasking', boys are 'one by one'.
Girls love doing more than one thing at once, but boys prefer do one task, then after they have finished, they continue to do another task. That's why when a girl talks to a boy when he is watching, he ignores the girl. It doesn't mean that he isn't care, but he is focusing on film that he watches. Tips: "Marry a boy who pauses the game just to text you back!" haha :P

4. Girls love asking. Boys are lazy to ask.
Not all boys are lazy to ask, but most of them are just like that. Girls ask for two reasons: first, to find informations, second, to be closer. Boys don't ask because they are SHY. But in answering questions, boy usually express their opinions, but girls tend to be careful.

---> What should we do?
1. Open mind.
Girls love talking about gossips and boys love talking about Call of Duty. LOL. When yoir partner is talking (about ANYTHING), be a good listener. Don't easily judge your boy when he is talking about a girl. And don't easily get mad when your girl talk about her exs. But for girls, this is a hint: "BOYS HATE WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR EXS." Be a good listener, don't be selfish.

2. Understanding.
Sometimes boys or girls don't want to share their privacy. Boys maybe keep silence when they are fail. Girls maybe hide their feelings. Don't force your partner when they don't want to talk. Take your time when they ask you to listen.

3. Helping each other.
When she needs you, spare your time to help her. When he calls you, take a moment to answer it. When she asks you to get a boy, well, it's up to you, wanna help her or not. LOL

Hope these helps! :)

Waris Dirie

WARIS DIRIE was born in Somalia. Her name means 'desert flower'. Her mother was quite well-off but her father was from a poor family. After they married, her parents were on the move all the time with their goats and camels. Life was hard but Waris had a happy childhood. She used to race camels with her brothers and sisters.

When she was twelve, her father arranged for her to marry an old man in exchange for five camels. The man was sixty. It was such a horrible idea that she decided to run away to the capital, Mongadishu. There, she moved from one relative to another. Finally, a kind aunt get her a job as a maid in the Somalian Embassy in London. When the ambassador returned to Somalia, she lost her job. Suddenly, she was in real trouble. Waris was on her own and out of work in a foreign country. She lived by herself, had no money and her English was so bad that it was difficult for her to find work. Eventually, she got a job as a cleaner in McDonald's.

One day, everything changed. By chance, a fashion photographer came in for a burger and saw Waris cleaning the floor. She looked like a perfect model so he immediately offered her work. Within months, she had started a new career. She became a top fashion model, advertising Revlon beauty products, and her face was on the covers of hundred of magazines around the world. She was even in James Bond film, The Living Daylights, in 1987.

Waris had such a warm and attractive face that her modelling career was a huge success. Howeverm in 1997 she decided to give up her life as a model. She wrote her autobiography, Desert Flower, about her exciting and exceptional life. "It's very sad," she says. "I had to make the choice to leave my country. What was it like in Africa? Africa was different," she continues. "I was young. I had nothing to worry about. I had my family, I had my animals, I had my simple life."

Waris now lives in New York. She works for the United Nations and campaigns for women's rights all over the world. There is never a dull moment. "I'm trying to sit down for a moment and there's no time for that," she laughs. "In Somalia, we don't care what time it is!"

Roaring Twenties

There was probably no other period in the history of female fashion as dramatic as the first three decades of the 20th century. Up to World War I, women used to wear dresses like in the picture beside. Then, in the 1920s, came the flapper look, which was similar to many modern fashion designs. We asked Stephanie Reno and Barbara Heller to tell us about those days.

Stephanie Reno (96): "When I was a child, women used to wear those tight corsets to give themselves a smaller waist. And then, one day, my older sister just threw away all her corsets. She was following the fashion of the day and she started wearing simple, loose dresses. She would even wear shorts! She would put on make-up, go to parties, smoke, and drink. My mother thought she had gone completely wild!"

Barbara Heller (95): "Clothes used to be terrible in the old days-that is before twenties. My mother didn't use to wear trousers at all. My granny would always put on this horrible huge hat, decorated with flowers and feathers. She never went out without it. And then, all of a sudden, everything changed. I remember my sisters were very sporty girls - they went swimming and cycling and they would wear trousers all the time. They needed comfortable clothes."

The person who had the greatest influence on the style of the 1920s was Coco Chanel, the most famous fashion designer of the 20th century. She cut her hair short and wore trousers, so they became trendy in women's fashion. Back in the 1920s, she introduced the cardigan, the little black dress, Chanel No. 5 perfume and many fashion items that are still popular today.

Album Series 3: Traditional Clothes : #2 BENGATA & KIMONO - Japan

The kimono (着物) is a Japanese traditional garment worn by women, men and children. The word "kimono", which literally means a "thing to wear" (ki "wear" and mono "thing"), has come to denote these full-length robes. The standard plural of the word kimono in English is kimonos, but the unmarked Japanese plural kimono is also sometimes used.
Kimonos are T-shaped, straight-lined robes worn so that the hem falls to the ankle, with attached collars and long, wide sleeves. Kimonos are wrapped around the body, always with the left side over the right (except when dressing the dead for burial), and secured by a sash called an obi, which is tied at the back. Kimonos are generally worn with traditional footwear (especially zōri or geta) and split-toe socks (tabi).
Today, kimonos are most often worn by women, and on special occasions. Traditionally, unmarried women wore a style of kimono called furisode, with almost floor-length sleeves, on special occasions. A few older women and even fewer men still wear the kimono on a daily basis. Men wear the kimono most often at weddings, tea ceremonies, and other very special or very formal occasions. Professional sumo wrestlers are often seen in the kimono because they are required to wear traditional Japanese dress whenever appearing in public.

Album Series 2: Traditional Clothes : #2 MARIMEKKO - Finlandia

Marimekko is a Finnish company based in Helsinki that has made important contributions to fashion, especially in the 1960s and 1970s. They are particularly noted for brightly-colored printed fabrics and simple styles, used both in women's garments and in home furnishings.

History

Marimekko was founded in 1951 by Viljo and Armi Ratia, after the former's oilcloth factory project failed and was converted to a garment plant. Armi asked some artist friends to apply their graphic designs to textiles. In order to show how the fabric could be used, the company then designed and sold a line of simple dresses using their fabric. It came as an early recognition of fashion as an industrial art and of Marimekko's role in the process when Finland's leading industrial designer Timo Sarpaneva invited the company to present a fashion show (albeit canceled at short notice) at the 1957 Triennale in Milan. The garments were eventually showcased in the nearby Rinascente upscale department store under its then store display manager Giorgio Armani.
Marimekko was first introduced to the United States by the architect Benjamin C. Thompson, who featured them heavily in his Design Research stores. They were made famous in the United States by Jacqueline Kennedy, who bought eight Marimekko dresses which she wore throughout the 1960 US Presidential campaign.
In the mid 1960's, Crate and Barrel began a relationship with Marimekko, which continues to this day, utilizing their designs on textiles sold in their stores. Crate and Barrel also uses Marimekko patterns as display backdrops in their stores to add color and seasonality.
By 1965, the company employed over 400, and the company was in every aspect of fine design, from fabrics to toys, dinnerware, even completely equipped small houses. That year, Armi Ratia told Pan Am's Clipper magazine that she was "against success--it is a sick word. Too many side effects." In the interview by R.E. Smallman, she also said that she did not like "hats, corsets. There is almost no more bra or even pants--no elegant woman will wear stockings, perhaps even no shoes. The world changes quickly, and this is expression of the new society."
In 1985, the company was sold to Amer-yhtymä. In the beginning of the 1990s, Marimekko was in a bad financial condition and was considered ready for bankruptcy. It was then bought from Amer by Kirsti Paakkanen, who introduced new business methods in the company and is generally seen as having saved Marimekko.
Later on the 90's Marimekko achieved publicity in the hit series Sex and the City. The fictional main character of the series, sex-and-relationship columnist Carrie Bradshaw, wore a Marimekko bikini on the season 2 and later on, a Marimekko dress. On the fifth season the series also introduced tablecloths with Marimekko prints.
In 2005, Marimekko's revenue had quadrupled since Paakkanen's purchase, and its net income grown 200-fold. Kirsti Paakkanen remained CEO of Marimekko and owned 20 % of the company via her business Workidea. In 2007, Paakkanen announced she would gradually hand over her ownership to Mika Ihamuotila, who will be the new CEO and biggest owner of the company.
In 2007, Marimekko began opening individually-owned Marimekko Concept Stores in the United States and Canada. Currently there are stores located in New York, Cambridge, Massachusetts; Oxford, Mississippi; Miami, Florida; and Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Marimekko name has been adopted within business and the management consultancy industry to refer to a bar chart where all the bars are of equal height, there are no spaces between the bars, and the bars are in turn each divided into segments of different height. The design of the 'marimekko' chart is said to resemble a Marimekko print.
